KATIE WILLIAMS

CO-FOUNDER + CO-CEO OF WalkFit

“I founded WalkFit to help people enjoy their daily activities without discomfort. This is more than just business; it’s about enhancing the quality of life for our customers.”

Katie Williams, originally from upstate New York, is a serial entrepreneur with a history of groundbreaking achievements. Her entrepreneurial spirit was evident early on when she became the first girl to have a paper route in her hometown and later, at 17, cycled to Nova Scotia and took part in a two-week snowshoeing expedition in the Adirondacks despite freezing temperatures.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Cornell University in 1983, Katie quickly mastered the intricacies of Direct Response Television (DRTV). In 1987, she founded Williams Worldwide Inc., making history as the first woman to lead a Direct to Consumer TV marketing agency. Under her leadership, the company flourished, reaching $130 million in sales.

Katie Williams is widely recognized for her exceptional ability to engage audiences through DRTV, earning her prestigious awards like the Direct Response Hall of Fame and the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Electronic Retailing Association. Her company, Williams Worldwide, is celebrated as one of Los Angeles’ Largest Woman-Owned Businesses.

In 1992, Katie expanded her reach by venturing into global marketing with Williams Worldwide Television. Her knack for understanding a product’s “story” and presenting it visually is what set her apart. Beyond her business endeavors, Katie is deeply committed to mentoring a diverse group of individuals, including women, men, immigrants, and people of color, guiding them in starting their own successful ventures. She also channels her passion into developing wellness products and effectively marketing them through various video formats, including TV and digital platforms.

Katie’s business philosophy integrates spiritual service, and she lives by the principle, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
